Grape variety : Cabernet franc 80% - Cabernet sauvignon 20%

Exposure : Vineyard exposed on southwest slopes

Age of vineyards : The average age of the vineyard of château Tigné is of 28 years but the vines on plot of land which produces this vintage are more than 40 years

Farming mode : Fertilizer is not used and instead the ground is worked to have the best expression of the soil composed of schist and faluns (marine fossils).

Winemaking type : Alcoholic and malo-lactic fermentation in stainless steel tank under controlled temperature of 28 degrés. Maceration lasts 21 days.

Maturing type : In oak barrels for 18 months, (50% in new barrels)

Drinking suggestions : Lovely for red meat or a game, as well as a soft-ripened cheese

Tasting comments : Even and deep red colour, a nose of red fruits and lovely soft and unctuous palate framed by tannins, which suggest a long life. 2003 is considered by many people as the vintage of the last century in Val de Loire.
